Has Procrastination Become Your Bestfriend?

We all have done it. We have all waited for the night before a big exam or a term paper to actually look at the assignment. It is a guilty pleasure of every high school student but today you can break out from the menacing habit and start becoming PRODUCTIVE.

Half a Dozen Sure Ways to Stop Procrastination!
    1. Stop Thinking, Start Doing : Our minds have this amazing counterproductive ability to complicate even the simplest tasks. The tip for this is simple, stop thinking of doing it and actually start doing it. The first step is always the hardest but once you start going on it is easy to stay on task. This also goes for the most common procrastinator mistake, trying to create the best way to finish a task. Many people spend endless valuable time worrying about how to get it done, they often search for shortcuts or a perfect plan that will make the task less daunting. The solution? Slow down and just start with the first math problem or the first flashcard.
    2. Begin With the Easiest Assignment and Work Your Momentum Up : This is one of my favorite methods and the reason it works almost every time is because when you complete an easy assignment you feel accomplished and the whole momentum changes. Soon, you'll find yourself tackling even the hardest assignment with breeze because you have already completed so many that psychologically you feel like you can do just about anything.
    3. Change Your Environment : Yes I know it is hard to sign off your social networks, your favorite tunes, and even disregard the sweet text from your lover but this step is crucial. Before you begin any assignment always try to eliminate your distractions. Always Identify and Eliminate. However, this rule can also be tweaked because not everyone is the same therefore adjust according to what helps you stay productive and stick with it. Experiment with different environments and choose one that suits your learning style the best.
    4. Create a Routine and Stick With It : This is pretty much self explanatory. Habits are what makes who we are, either you can grow with positive habits or you can become your worst enemy because of your silly habits. The most important thing about developing a good study habit is because someday you will be stressed and will not have any desire to even hold your pencil but it is the good study habits that kick in instinctively that helps you grind through the tough nights.
    5. Lastly, Get it Done : Once you start something always have the intention of seeing it through.
