This past summer many students entering 7th through 12th grades received a letter stating that a TDAP shot is now required to go to school for this coming year. Although many have taken the shot already few barely know what the TDAP shot is about. The TDAP shot is generally given to children and teenagers as a vaccine to protect from 3 main infections, the tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis. Each of these infections can be quite fatal and contagious since it attacks the respiratory system. Therefore a tdap shot is now required to protect you, your community, and your school. So before you go to school, make sure to check in with your doctor to make sure that you are protected.
Places that are offering TDAP shots include your local grocery store such as Walgreens and CVS or your local health clinic.
